UK’s Good Dog Food Start-up aims to create cell cultured dog food.

Dog eating its food

UK based Alternative Meat Fund Agronomics has partnered up with Roslin Technologies to create the Good Dog Food company. Agronomics Executive Director and Billionaire Jim Melon is the Good Dog Food’s chairman. Jim has long held a vision of completely disrupting the meat industry using cellular agriculture where meat products are instead grown in the lab.

As a dog owner himself Jim is keen to find high quality alternative meat products for his pets and he thinks that there is a gap in the market for the Good Dog Food business. The alternative meat industry is still fledgling with only Singapore having past regulatory approval, and no companies have yet submitted an application in the UK. Jim believes that it would be easier to obtain regulatory approval for the pet industry, rather than what is required for people to consume lab grown meat products.
